SHORT BIOGRAPHY
COMMUNITY WORK AND CHARITIES:
First and foremost, just being a SURVIVOR is my biggest accomplishment in my life. Not giving up when I really thought that I have been given the death sentence, twice! My life, my faith, my strength and my dreams have changed since my survival. I have become more ‘community minded’ and felt the need to do so much more for others. This was the realization that I DO have a purpose in life. I have since then given talks on breast cancer awareness in and around my community. People had begun to talk to me with their issues and I became more involved in the dreaded disease and wanted to learn more about it, so that I could educate others whom were going through the same, on a ‘personal experience basis’. I have become more of a spiritual being.
When I visit hospitals and hospices I want the women to know that we are not statistics like the doctors may make us out to be, we are all spiritual beings with the right to live! I love to inspire people! My community work is probably the most rewarding and best part of my life and my personal achievements along with my experiences of being the perfect Role Model that I set out to be! I am thrilled with all that I have achieved. By touching the lives of others and reaching out to the needy, less fortunate, sick, assisting with fundraising, making dreams come true and just anything that will fulfill the needs of whoever may need whatever!
I wanted to involve myself with facing challenges, and realized it does take incredible force, strength and courage as well as determination to go ahead and deal with sometimes impossible situations within the communities. I feel that with my unstoppable energy and complete devotion, I am in a most unique position with the world!
A very self-rewarding, important personal achievement for me is my very successful charity that I created in 2009, called “Race to live”. See www.racetolive.org. A charity drive for adults/children with life threatening diseases, including cancer, down syndrome, special needs, muscular dystrophy and many other forms of diseases, whom have various dreams and ambitions and with the assistance of “Race to live”, they can come true. They are called our “dreamers”. We are an organization of a few individuals who volunteer our time and efforts and raise sponsorship to enable children and adults to have their dreams fulfilled. Some of them only dream of being taken around Killarney Raceway in a race car can now have their dream come true our volunteers and members whom have offered their time and dedication to create the opportunity to make their wish a reality before they are no longer able to. Various activities include events booked for racing car drives and go karts rides as well as many other fundraising events and collections for the less fortunate in the community! “Race to live”…changing a life, one race at a time!
I would like to thank my dear God for bringing me this far and for achieving all I have in my life. Without His love and guidance and shining light, I would not have gone through all the wonderful experiences that I have. I can really relate to all types of people. My heart is there for the sick and hungry and with all my might and where I am able, I will reach out to them in their worst times.
I thank my family and friends for standing with me, also through my own troubles, for their love and support and help that they give me no matter what my decisions. They have helped me when my mind was unsure and when situations became too tough to handle.
After conserving my community for 7 years now, I Look back at all my achievements… a world of wonder, the lives that I have touched and think back of all that I was able to do. I am so amazed at where and how I did this all…and I keep going back to the one conclusion…God!
MY MOTTO FOR LIFE: (Something that I will always remember and recite for all my life)
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I will hope that I will have no talent left. Then I can say…I used everything that YOU gave me!!!
MY ROLE MODEL IS:
Mother Theresa. An inspirational woman who based her actions on her belief that she was doing God’s work. Her undying love for people in all situations was unstoppable and brought faith in Jesus Christ to all whom she met, the poor, the sick, the dying. She touched everyone with her compassion. What a remarkable woman she was!
